FAQ

Have a question? Please write me at service@creativeplaystamps.com.

Are you looking for something that's been hard to find, or do you wish we carried a particular product? I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions!

What are unmounted stamps?
Unmounted stamps are the sheets of rubber, without wood blocks. They cost less, and they save space. The rubber sheet is attached to cling cushion (which I include), and the cling cushion sticks to an acrylic block while you stamp. It's helpful to have several different size blocks, but you can get by with just one or two. Try my specially priced beginner kit if you're new to unmounted.
Do you include cling cushion?
Yes! I include cling cushion free with my stamp sheets and individual stamps. As long as you have an acrylic block and some ink, you'll have everything you need to stamp.
Can your stamps be mounted on wood blocks?
Yes, but you will need to buy a different cushion and the wood blocks. If you plan to do this, please let me know in your order comments, or by email. Some of my early designs have the cling cushion pre-attached (and would need to be removed), but for all the recent designs it is not pre-attached. The product description for each stamp sheet indicates "pre-attached" where appropriate. For individual stamps, refer to the sheet. I do not currently carry wood blocks, or the appropriate cushion for wood blocks. If wood mounts are something you'd be interested in purchasing from me in the future, please let me know.
Do you offer free shipping?
Orders of $50 or more for US delivery receive free shipping.
What are your other shipping rates?
Orders of $50 or more receive free shipping. Orders less than $12 are $3.99. Everything else is $5.99.
Orders for US addresses with $5.99 shipping are sent via USPS Priority Mail. $3.99 shipping is currently via USPS First Class, and free shipping is currently done via USPS Priority Mail.
International shipping depends on the destination and the package weight - if your country is supported on the site, the shipping rate is shown in your cart. Otherwise, send me email indicating what you want to order, and I'll figure it out for you.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit cards and PayPal. Credit card processing, and the security of your payment information, is done by PayPal. I also accept checks, but your order will not ship until the check has cleared, which may take up to 10 days. Money Orders are better than checks, because I can send your order out right away.
Can I pay with credit card instead of PayPal?
Yes! PayPal does our credit card processing, but you do not need to create a PayPal account in order to pay by credit card. Click the "continue" link near the Visa and MasterCard logos.

PayPal is telling me to pay with my PayPal account, but I don't want to use that!
If PayPal recognizes that you have a PayPal account, they will urge you to use that - but you can still check out without it. Click on the "continue" link below the box that urges you to log in.

What is your privacy policy?
I do not sell or share your information with anyone. I will only use the information you give me to complete your order. For your protection, I do not keep your payment information on file.
What are your stamps made of?
My stamp sheets and individual stamps are made of deeply etched red rubber.
Why is deeply etched important?
Deeply etched stamps have twice as much distance between the raised surface of the stamp and the base of the stamp. It's easier to make a quality impression without accidentally touching the non-image part of the stamp to the paper. Deeply etched stamps can also be be used on fabric and other surfaces.
Why do you prefer rubber stamps over clear stamps?
I've used clear (photopolymer) stamps, but I stopped buying them because the ones I got turned yellow. But there are additional issues to consider:
  • Rubber stamps will last decades if properly cared for, but clear stamps break down over time (they get hard or gooey) - this happens naturally, because of the way they are made.
  • Rubber stamps are capable of showing fine details that clear stamps can't.
  • The solvent used to clean inks like StazOn from your stamp will damage clear stamps.
Can I sell items made with your stamps (what is your Angel Policy)?
You may sell items that were hand stamped from my rubber stamps. I'd love it if you mentioned that you got them from CreativePlayStamps.com, but I do not require you to do so.
Rollagraph images are a bit different. Here again, you may sell hand stamped items, but you must also mention that the images are from Clearsnap.
Stampabilities stamps (House Mouse, Gruffies, Happy Hoppers, and Peanuts) are also different. They do not allow you to use their stamps on anything you plan to resell.
What is your return policy?
I accept returns for any product that is unopened, any stamp sheets which are uncut and unused, or anything that is defective. Please contact me before sending the item, so I know whether you want a refund or an exchange, and so I know it is coming.
Do you accept international orders?
This site is set up to accept orders from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and many other countries. You can see what you'll be charged for shipping by starting the checkout process. If your country is listed, once you've selected your country, your shipping charges will be correct, and you can add to and remove from your cart as you like. If your country is not listed, I can usually get support added to the site for new countries within 24 hours. To request support for your country, simply start to checkout.
What's the difference between inks?
All the inks that we carry are acid free (so they are safe for archival projects like scrapbooks).
  • Pigment inks are slow drying, which makes them good for color blending. They are best when used on absorbent papers. They can be cleaned up with water, but the image can be made waterproof and permanent if embossed.
  • Dye inks are fast drying, and can be used on all papers. They cannot be embossed.
Some specific products:
  • ColorBox Pigment Ink - as described above
  • ColorBox MetaleXtra - this is a pigment ink, which has a metallic sheen. It has a subtle two toned color effect. Can be used on vellum.
  • Fluid Chalk - this is a blended ink, which combines the resilience of pigment inks with the faster drying character of dye inks. Can be used on all papers. Not embossable, but can be heat set to make it waterproof and permanent.
  • Vivid! Dye Ink - This ink is not waterproof, which can make for fun effects. It is not light fast (it will fade somewhat over time when exposed to light). It can be cleaned up with water.
  • Ancient Page Dye Ink - This ink is waterproof, and light fast. Water can be used for cleanup, if applied soon after use. Otherwise, a stamp cleaner is required.
Do you have any specials or sales going on?
I let my newsletter subscribers know whenever a sale starts, and I also send out coupons at least once a month. Sometimes, I announce these specials on the site too.
What kind of things do you put in your newsletter?
When you subscribe, you'll be the first to know when new designs have arrived, and to learn about new products. You'll also know when items go on sale, and I reserve my best coupons for my newsletter subscribers! The newsletter goes out whenever I have something useful to tell you - which seems to be two to three times a month.
How do I subscribe to your newsletter?
On nearly every page, on the right hand side of the screen there is a "Get Coupons" button. Enter your email address just above that, and click the button. You'll receive an email. Click on the link in the email to verify that you really want to subscribe, and you're done!
Do you carry ...?
If you can't find something you're looking for, please let me know! I can certainly get it if it is from one of my current suppliers, and I'm always interested in new products myself. I've added several items to the site because someone asked about them, and some of my stamp designs were created because someone just couldn't find something they desperately wanted.
How do I save my shopping cart?
Your shopping cart is saved when you log in to your account. When you come back later, simply log in to your account again, and you should see your cart. If you do not see your cart, it may be because you put something else in your cart (a product or a coupon) in the mean time. If you had a large cart and don't want to spend time recreating it, send us an email - we can usually help.
How is my order shipped?
For $5.99 shipping we use Priority Mail to ship orders within the USA. The $3.99 option is sent Regular First Class Mail. International orders are sent regular international mail.
