What are Unmounted Stamps?

Unmounted stamps are rubber stamps without the wood blocks. This makes them:

  • smaller - they take up much less space, and are easier to store
  • cost less - no expensive wooden block to buy for every stamp

Instead, you buy one or two acrylic blocks that never wear out, and reuse them over and over.

How to Use Our Stamps

CreativePlay stamps come with cling cushion (included free!). You will only need to trim the stamps, peel the backing and then mount to an acrylic block.

When you're done, clean the stamp, peel it off of the acrylic block, and store it away.

How to Store Unmounted Stamps

Unmounted stamps take up less space – one of the great things about them! The important thing is to keep them, just like mounted stamps, away from sunlight. One way to store your unmounted stamps is in empty CD cases – (the older, thicker kind) The middle section will have to be removed. You may also want to make an index so you can find the stamps quickly. You can also use envelopes, or store the stamps in a binder.

How to Clean Unmounted Stamps

Unmounted stamps can be cleaned just like mounted stamps. Some options are:

  • alcohol free baby wipes with aloe
  • hand sanitizer with aloe
  • store bought stamp cleaner

It is okay if the stamp gets stained! After cleaning the stamp, you can tap it on a piece of scrap paper to see if any ink remains. If no ink comes off on the paper, the stamp is fine – its just stained and will not affect the next color you use on it.

I like to leave my stamp on the acrylic block while I am cleaning it, but that is just a personal preference, and not necessary.
